Singapore photography in the eighties featuring images of the city and environs
Down Town and city, shopping malls on Orchard and Tanglin Roads. Istana, home to the president, the grounds are open to the public on some public holidays, such as National Day.
Changi Pier and Sentosa Island – The World Trade Centre and ferry to Sentosa Island, before re-development.
Images of an old out of town corner cafe in the eighties, a derelict house, Rochor canal and Kranji War Cemetery.
Holland village – a favourite shopping place for locals and ex-pats, there were lots of traditional shop houses and roadside traders.
Arab Street Area – a run-down shop house, with a leaking roof and drainage channels from the first floor, but business as usual.
Singapore environs images in the eighties
Images are digitally scanned colour negatives, captured between 1981 and 1988 and processed using Adobe Camera Raw and Photoshop. Refer to Image Processing for a list of film stock used in this period.
